Fauna in Nagarahole National Park

Nagarahole forest is hosting varied kinds of animals. The entertaining appearance of fauna justifies the jungle. Its wildlife belongs to the predators and carnivores such as tigers, leopards, wild dogs, sloth bears, and hyenas. The sighting-worthy herbivores like spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, four-horned antelope gaur, wild boar, and elephant are abundantly available here.

There is a maximum number of leopards and they are in good quantity up to 14000-15000. Some of them are also available during this season Chested bee-eater,  One of the best places for 300 birds to photograph them. New species of birds can also be found in varied seasons. They are Black redstart, Greenish warbler, Greater spotted eagle, Spot-bellied eagle-owl, Nilgiri flowerpecker, and Montagu’s harrie. As an extension of the Bandipur Tiger Reserve, Nagarahole National Park was designated as a tiger reserve in 2003 under 'Project Tiger'. After Nagarahole was announced as an independent Tiger Reserve in 2007, it was proclaimed a Core or Critical Tiger Habitat of 643.392 square kilometers.

Nagarahole Park is loaded with all these leading characters in the jungle. They are the main and there are other animals that you should consider their presence as well. Medley of birds, reptiles, dogs, deer, sambar, and many more that keep your interest alive for covering the jungle throughout. The park is not divided into any safari zones so doing a safari here would be smoother. It boasts the highest density of tigers among its equivalents with 125 animals. It is the place of common animals and unique animals as well. You will find frequently animals coming across while having a jeep or bus safari in this commendable jungle. Even a smaller number of animal spotting will be available here.
